Offshore/Onshore Technologies Association of Nova Scotia
The Offshore/Onshore Technologies Association of Nova Scotia (OTANS) is a not-for-profit organization representing the interests of organizations in the oil and gas industry in Eastern Canada. Since its inception in 1982, the membership of OTANS has grown from a dozen to over 500 member organizations throughout Atlantic Canada.
The mandate of OTANS is to support the maximization of Atlantic Canadian participation in the supply of goods and services to meet the needs of the offshore/onshore oil and gas industry. OTANS purpose is to identify, promote and support the development of opportunities in hydrocarbon and associated industries, with a particular emphasis on the offshore.
OTANS provides its members with business and information opportunities through a series of monthly breakfast meetings. OTANS also provides its members with a forum to seek business opportunities in the offshore/onshore oil and gas development industry as well as a voice reaching all levels of government on issues that affect member companies. On many levels, OTANS represents the Nova Scotian oil and gas industry.
The association also plays a key role in organizing trade shows and conferences that offer member organizations an opportunity to participate in trade missions outside of Eastern Canada, thus introducing our local organizations to a global market.
