Pipelines 101
As the public becomes more involved in the decision-making process related to the planning, construction and operation of pipelines, there are greater concerns regarding potential health, social, safety and environmental impacts of pipeline construction and operation. The need for balanced, factual information on Canadašs pipelines and the pipeline industry is high.
The Canadian Energy Pipelines Association has developed Pipelines 101 to help address the growing need for balanced, factual information on Canadašs pipelines and pipeline industry. Topics covered include the history of pipelines; the different type of pipelines; pipeline design, construction and operation and pipeline safety and regulation.
The Canadian Energy Pipeline Association represents Canadašs transmission pipeline companies. CEPA members operate more than 100,000 kilometres of pipeline in Canada and the United States.
